Ivanka Trump, the president's oldest daughter, was quite active during his first term in office, especially given her husband Jared Kushner's role in the administration.
But after the 2020 election, Ivanka's interest in being in her father's political orbit seemed to drastically change, and a new book claims to have the reasons behind her exit from the MAGA political world.
According to the Daily Mail, a new book claims to explain the reasoning for Ivanka -- and Jared's -- departure from President Trump's political circle.
The author of the book also claims that the relationship between Donald Trump and his daughter and son-in-law became "tense" after his 2020 election defeat to former President Joe Biden.
Author Michael Wolff wrote in his new book, "All or Nothing," that Jared and Ivanka -- who both served as advisers during his first term in the White House -- "had aggressively distanced themselves from the former president and the Mar-a-Lago court."
Wolff added, "They were, like Trump, largely unwelcome in New York, but were careful to settle in Miami, at a distance too far from Palm Beach for casual visits to Mar-a-Lago."
However, the Daily Mail noted that Ivanka and Jared both maintained a close personal relationship with Mr. Trump, and would often speak during his time out of the White House after the 2020 election.
The Daily Mail noted:
The couple spoke to him often and even traveled the 70-something miles between Miami and Palm Beach for the occasional round of golf, DailyMail.com has learned.
They also spent their summers at a home they own on Trump’s National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., where the Trump clan gathered to escape the Florida heat and enjoy the property’s amenities.
While Trump's critics desperately want there to be a dramatic fallout or other family issue within the Trump family, Ivanka's exit from the 2024 political arena is simply because she wants time with her young family. She has three children.
She also recently opened up about her relationship with her father, saying she would be there for emotional support.
"I'm most looking forward to just being able to show up for him as a daughter and be there for him, to take his mind off things and like watch a movie with him or watch a sports game, to know that he can be with me and be himself, and just relax," Ivanka Trump said.
Trump's primary counsel and other White House officials have been highly critical of Wolff's revelations in his book, and a lawsuit against him has already been floated.
The Daily Mail noted:
His previous three had sections of reporting that were heavily disputed. Fact-checking organizations like Politifact said Wolff’s first book Fire and Fury contained several factual errors.
Wolff is clearly just trying to make a buck or two off of the Trump Derangement Synrome-stricken crowd, of which there seem to be plenty of these days. What a joke.
