First Lady Melania Trump mostly stayed out of the limelight during her husband's second presidential campaign, and any reasonable person would agree that her reasoning for that was valid.
Trump's critics and those stricken with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) have attempted to create a narrative that the first lady is somehow dissatisfied with President Donald Trump and has purposely distanced herself from him.
According to Newsweek, in a new book by journalist Michael Wolff called "All or Nothing," he wrote that Melania reportedly "laughed" at the Trump campaign's suggestions that she join him on the campaign trail.
The left-leaning Newsweek article pointed out the "Where's Melania?" narrative on social media that was driven by TDS-stricken Democrats and attempted to give relevance to the idea that the Trumps are on the outs.
Wolff, in his book, focused on Melania Trump's overall absence from the campaign trail, which many have stated was out of concern for the safety of her family -- especially Barron Trump.
That didn't stop Wolff from trying to paint a different picture, as he described certain moments during the campaign, alleging she laughed off a request from Trump's campaign team.
"Since the first indictment in New York, when Melania had simply laughed at the campaign's effort to get her to accompany her husband ('Nice try'), it had been clear that she wasn't going to show up," Wolff's book read.
He added, "During the past year, she had yet to make a single campaign appearance. In only one instance in 2023 did she even appear on the plane—and then only hitching a ride."
"Magically, the Melania issue had not, in the White House years nor the Mar-a-Lago years—with both staffers and press quite aware of the Trumps' nontraditional living arrangements and their careful distance from each other— become an issue."
Wolff also pointed out the "Where's Melania?" movement:
Melania continued to be an additional freak-out, absolutely refusing every entreaty to speak or even to appear side by side with her husband. He had never faced point-blank questions from the media about their relationship. But what if 'Where's Melania?' started now in earnest? But that was all before the shooting...
Melania Trump had many reasons to stay out of the public light, especially in the wake of the assassination attempt on her husband.
The first lady has always been a fierce protector of her son, Barron Trump, and to blame her for keeping him out of the spotlight is ridiculous.
TDS-stricken people have nothing else to do with their time other than create fake news stories about the Trumps' marriage being on the rocks.
It's clear to anyone in Trump's circle, and any reasonable person, that they're just fine and have a wonderful family.
