'Hunter' Tim Walz struggles to load shotgun in video

Democrat vice presidential nominee Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was caught on video struggling to load a shotgun despite repeatedly telling audiences on the campaign trail that he is a "hunter."

The video was posted on X by the National Rifle Association (NRA) with the caption: "Reminder: Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are no friends of hunters and gun owners. The Harris-Walz ticket is an existential threat to our Second Amendment freedoms."

The video showed him awkwardly trying to load the gun and saying, "It never fits quite right."

What is he thinking?

Reporters asked him what kind of gun it was and he said it was a Beretta A400, which is a semiautomatic firearm.

While there are a lot of gun owners who probably look awkward loading their guns even though they are familiar with them, the video represents a kind of flub for Walz.

That's because Walz has tried to position himself as a "hunter" and gun owner who wants to ban so-called "assault weapons."

While the Beretta A400 is not considered an assault weapon, it is a semi-automatic like the AR-15, which has been banned previously.

Convoluted stance

Walz also served in the military for years, so he should be familiar with different kinds of weapons including military ones that are considered assault weapons.

His struggle with the Beretta shotgun could make voters wonder about his supposed proficiency as a hunter and gun enthusiast.

It doesn't really seem like Walz benefits much from his convoluted stance on guns.

A lot of Democrats hate guns and would be turned off by Walz's video and statements that he is a hunter.

Pro-Second Amendment Republicans won't consider him legitimate as a hunter/gun owner if he wants to ban some guns, so who is left to support this iteration of his positioning?

So many Democrat positions are unsupportable anymore and just end up making the majority of people angry for one reason or another.
