Trump dismisses 'ineffective' Kamala Harris, predicts Joe Biden too proud to quit

 July 9, 2024

Donald Trump believes that Kamala Harris will replace Joe Biden if his party forces him to step aside, but Trump isn't sweating a matchup with the "ineffective" vice president.

Trump shared his thoughts on the chaotic presidential race with Sean Hannity, predicting a weakened Joe Biden will continue running for president because of pride.

"Well, we prepared for him, but I don't think it's going to matter. We had a great four years," Trump told Hannity.

Trump on Biden's future

A fresh Emerson College poll found Trump leading Harris by six points, even as Democrats and liberal commentators have warmed to her as an alternative following Biden's disastrous debate performance on CNN.

"I think she's an ineffective person. She was in charge of the border. She's never been there," Trump told Hannity.

Asked about the odds of Biden dropping out, Trump said he believes it isn't likely because Biden has too much of an "ego" to quit. Biden's family members are also encouraging him to stay put.

Biden launched a campaign to crush dissent on Monday as Democrats returned from their July 4th recess, urging Democrats to rally behind him as he trashed "elites" in the party.

"It looks to me like he may very well stay in, he's got an ego and he doesn't want to quit, he doesn't want to do that," Trump said. "It looks to me like that's what he wants. I think Jill would like to see him stay. She's having a good time."

"It will be her"

Trump noted that it's "getting very difficult to cover for Biden" since his age issues were laid bare in last month's CNN debate.

"Obviously he's been sheltered by the fake news media," Trump said.

Trump said Democrats are too cautious to swap Biden with anyone other than his vice president, but Biden is standing in the way.

"I think that it will be her, I think they are very concerned about the vote if it's not her," he said. "I mean they're gun shy. They don't want to do it any other way. I've actually come to believe that's what they're going to do."

"If he gets out for whatever reason, and I don't think he wants to get out, but if he gets out, it will be her," Trump said.
